All India Council of Open Schooling (AICOS) is an “Open Schooling Council” an Minority Educational Institute, an autonomous National body to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level registered under Trust Act for for promotion and development pre-primary, primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Vocational Education in Open and distance mode and some of cases in regular mode on different stream under the NCERT and West Bengal Madrasha Education Department syllabus for generally Minority students.

It is generally established with prime vision and objective to promote and developed the Muslim Minority Community. As number of Muslim Community are unable to get education due to their financial constraints and being placed in the remote areas.

The courses of All India Council of Open Schooling are autonomous courses, designed by the council itself and the Certification are given by the Council itself.

In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.

· To the evolution of a learning society.

All India Council of Open Schooling is an autonomous body, which is established for promotion and development pre-primary, primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary & Vocational Education in Open and distance mode on different stream under the NCERT syllabus, under the guidelines of National Education Policy 1986 modified in 1992 Govt. of India.

All India Council of Open Schooling has been constituted to regulate non formal Primary, Middle, Higher Secondary (10th ), Senior Secondary (12th ) education and other vocational courses ( Under Self Employment Education Scheme) in India . With the help of educational experts to educate uneducated boys, girls, men and women to upliftment the literacy in India. So that they can serve society effectively and with dignity.

All India Council of Open Schooling is an autonomous body and all educational boards / Council / Universities are autonomous bodies. Each educational organisation having discretionary powers. According these powers every Board / Council / University / state Govt. / Central Govt. of India having the liberty and right to take own decision either to allow or refuse any admission / service. But we do our best to make success the non-formal education programme . All the education programme run by the Council is Council’s own autonomous education programme.

The All India Council of Open Schooling is generally for those students who are not able to complete their education in regular mode and wants to complete their education in Open and Distance mode.

ALL INDIA COUNCIL OF OPEN SCHOOLING is an autonomous body. The Council is an Autonomous National Body and it enjoys statutory status under constitution of India, 1950, for its rights to education programs admit students, Conduct Examination and issue Mark Sheet & Certificates. The area of operation of Council is all over India through its affiliated school & authorized examination centres.

The All India Council of Open Schooling (AICOS) is an autonomous organization in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. ALL INDIA COUNCIL OF OPEN SCHOOLING is providing a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level. It also offers Elementary level Courses through its Open Basic Education Programs (OBE).

FINANCIAL:
ALL INDIA COUNCIL OF OPEN SCHOOLING is a self-financing body which meets the recurring and non-recurring expenditure without any grant-in-aid either from the Central Govt. or State Govt. from any other source. All the financial requirements of the Council are met from the annual examination charges, Institutions affiliation fee, and student’s admission fee. The jurisdiction of the Council is extensive and stretches beyond the national geographical boundaries.
